Sold a few stories recently but I keep forgetting to mention them so it’s about time!
My mech romance The Ganymede Blues is coming out in the luminescent machinations anthology published by Neon Hemlock. It’s available to pre-order now and will be out on July 25th.
I have an essay in the HOW TO WRITE A NOVEL anthology published by Autofocus Lit. No hard release date for that yet, but I sure did like what I sent them.
Lastly, I have an unusual sword and sorcery story coming out soon from Old Moon Quarterly.
I also have a few other too-soon-to-be-announced projects cooking with some places. One of them I should be able to share by the end of summer, I think. Another little jaunt in collaborative storytelling, which is a lot of fun.
If you’re on Substack Notes, the just-launched kinda sorta social media wing of substack, I’m posting a 100-word story every day this month over there. Should be fun.
If you’re new here and want to check out my recent short fiction publications, you can find them here.
I mention all this because I’m considering a slight change here at Wolf. There sure are, apparently, a lot of fiction writers on substack and most of them seem to just post their stories here for anyone to read.
It’s something I’d thought about but never too seriously, outside of my serial novel, newly begun.
But I have considered sharing my short fiction directly here on substack. Maybe a story per week, released each Saturday morning. This is partly inspired by
’s composite novel idea, which is a concept I quite like.So I’m considering it, but I thought I’d run it by everyone here first.
Along with that, as I’ve mentioned already, the stories I’ve been writing and recording for my son are also on the table, and I may start sharing those as well. They would be in podcast form, which would give me something to do with the podcast section of this newsletter.
Now, these serialized stories are intended for a four year old, so, uh, they’re not exactly meant for adults. That’s not to say you might not like them! But you should adjust your expectations accordingly. Or share them with your kids instead.
But rather than foist this upon all of you, I’d like to get your feedback since you’re the readers and this wouldn’t all even be happening without all of you.
Anyway, with all that in mind, here are a few polls.
One of my concerns here is not flooding the emails of those who are not interested. There are a few options with regard to this, assuming people even want this stuff.
Start a new substack
Not particularly interested in making a completely separate substack to manage, so I’m not doing this
Make a new section of Wolf
This is what I did with Emrys the Fool, which you need to opt-in to in order to receive these in your email (instructions here!)
I could still make this a new section and just opt-in everyone already subscribing to Wolf (this is the first option of that final questions)
Start and host the children’s fiction podcast elsewhere
There are many podcast hosting platforms and I could just host it all there and periodically remind people here to hop over there to check it out
This would leave the Wolf Podcast as an empty space, which is fine. I still may begin recording the essays I’ve written here for that potential podcast
So, yes, please vote and let me know what you think!
And if you’re one of those kind souls looking to get into my fiction, here are the novels I’ve released recently:

Howl - Vampire Hunter D meets The Book of the New Sun in this lofi cyberpunk/solarpunk monster hunting adventure
Colony Collapse - Star Trek meets Firefly in the opening episode of this space opera
