DS3 is the only the Dark Souls games that I've actually beaten, but I love every single one of them (yes, even DS2). As you said, it felt like I had accomplished something truly monumental.

But this series is, imp, the greatest in all modern gaming. At the time I originally wrote this essay, I hadn’t beaten Elden Ring, but now I have, and although I have my share of gripes with it, I think it is a stellar game.
