Reading aloud and telling stories was a big deal in mg family. I’m pretty sure I am who I am today because my dad read me all of The Hobbit when I was about six. He read to us until my brother and I were well into our teens, at which point I was still reading to my little sister.
All this to say: That Yoto thing looks pretty darn cool!! And rewriting the myths for your kids sounds like such a fun project.
II teach in a School of Information which was once a School of Librarianship. A few of us still teach about books. I'm not a youth book person but many of my friends are.

Oh wow, my brother and sister-in-law have three kids under 8 who would probably LOVE a Yoto Player. This would be a great Christmas idea for them if their parents are on board.
My parents recorded cassettes of themselves reading stories when my brother and I were kids, and we listened to those all the time. It's neat that you're able to do the same thing with this!
Haha, yes, I think someone got the kids *tablets* this past Christmas, without consulting the adults, and... that didn't exactly go over well, from what I've heard. Which is completely reasonable! Even as a childless person I know that's very poor form.

Nice! That sounds similar to what my father-in-law did. My wife still remembers it very fondly.

That's awesome!
And, yeah! I'd run it by them first, because you never know how people will respond, but I think it's great. It's also super easy to make your own.

We’ve got the Yoto mini for our daughter and it’s one of the best pieces of tech I’ve ever purchased.
In the design world apparently Yoto is right up there with Apple. And it’s so durable! She chucks it around, and no problems so far.
Anyways, great piece.
Awesome! Have you tried making your own cards?
We found the process shockingly intuitive and easy.
For sure! Had to have baby shark at the ready for her pretty much since the first day 🫠
Haha, of course!
