Engagement metrics are a tough thing. I don’t feel as though I have a meaningful comment to this, but also don’t want silence to be taken as lack of interest. I enjoyed reading it this morning; I shared it with someone else because I found it thought-provoking in a quiet, personal way that I also thought would provoke thoughts in them, even if we didn’t share our thoughts with each other.

Also good to hear the baby is well, if exhausting, and congratulations both on selling stories and getting to enjoy writing them. :)

Thanks for the kind words!

It's really only the Ghibli posts that I see the big dip in metrics. Which isn't entirely surprising to me, honestly. Those essays are seven years old and just reposts from a website I used to have a column at that's about to disappear from the internet. In a lot of ways, me hosting them here is kind of more for me than it is for anyone else, ha. So I don't worry much about it.

Glad this resonated with you, though. I know writing about writing is fairly dangerous, so I try not to do it too much.

I know this is super old but — Not sure how it is for others, but I’ve skipped a few of them at the moment because I want to wait to read them after I see the movie.
