I'm so sorry about your father. My grandmother died of Parkinson's, and it's so hard when the person you love is, in more ways than not, already gone.
The dinner broke my heart. For the first time, both Alicent and Rhaenyra were ready to reconcile at the same time...but it no longer matters. Their feud has been passed on to their children. It's no longer in their control.
That's a good way to put it. Whether intentionally or not, Alicent and Rhaenyra have handed their enmity to their children.
I also think the actress playing Alicent is better than I've given her credit for. You can see how desperately she needs and has needed a friend. Not an ally. But a true friend. And I think she sees, even if only for a moment, how she didn't have to lose her friendship with Rhaenyra.
I am so sorry. Family separations are always heartbreaking, but especially when there is no good reason for them. I hope you at least can find peace, even if your father can’t.

It's one of the things that make being human so hard, the deep well of sadness.

Incredibly moving. Living with my FIL who has Parkinson's. I can relate. Love to your family.
HOWL!
Oh, how this spoke to me. I'm sorry for all of you. Thank you for writing this.
