Before I get on with this giveaway, I just want to remind those who want to watch As Tears Go By before the essay goes up: now’s the time to watch it. Essay is going up next Tuesday.
Now then!
I was going to announce the pre-order for The Shattered Stars and encourage everyone to, you know, pre-order the novel, but I’m just too excited about it.
This is a series I’m cowriting with my good friend Kyle Muntz inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation but populated by the cast of Firefly.
It is so much fun.
I literally cannot wait for all of you to read it and so I’m making it available to everyone here right now, about six weeks before publication. Yes, that includes you free subscribers, too.
You can download the ebook right here.
I just want everyone to read this series. It’s been one of the most fun writing projects I’ve ever had, which is saying something! I really have a lot of fun writing! It’s also stretched me quite a bit as a writer, in that I’m doing things in this series that I’d never done before.
For example, if you liked any of the action scenes in Howl, it was cowriting this first season of The Shattered Stars with Kyle Muntz that taught me how to do that.
I wrote a bit about collaborative writing over at the Bestseller Newsletter, which gets into how this came about.
I’ve also made a few changes to the website layout by adding appropriate sections and even an updated About page.
But, yeah, I’m so excited about this. I really hope you pick this one up and I hope you fall in love with it. And then I hope you tell everyone you know about it.
Here’s that link one more time, just in case you missed it up there.
Consider this a thank you to all of you who have signed up here to follow along with my essays. The number of you who have shown up has inspired me to do much more than I ever planned for this little newsletter.
As a reminder, if you want the ebooks for all my novels coming out, become a paying subscriber. Signing up for the year gives you a $20 discount as well.
Between cowriting and my own solo writing, you can expect 10-12 books per year moving forward. If you like my fiction, I’d say that’s a pretty good deal!
Commenting here for two reasons. 1) I deleted my original substack account and needed to seed this new account, even if only to homestead a bit, and 2) to just say that your productivity is an inspiration. I think I'm gonna try using substack to force myself to create a bit more. Thanks for that.
Excited to read this!
